Oliver Twist: A Naxos Junior Classic Audiobook

Most children will have to read great classics at some point in their lives.  Often times, it is a struggle to get your child motivated to read these great works of literature.  Thanks to Naxos Junior Classics series, this task just got a whole lot easier with Naxos Junior Classics "Oliver Twist"

Oliver Twist runs away from the brutality of the workhouse only to find himself taken in by a gang of thieves run by the devilish Fagin, his violent side-kick Bill Sikes and the irrepressible Artful Dodger.  Rescued from London's dingiest and darkest dens but then forced to hlpe in a violent burglary.  Oliver's chances of survivial are slim, and his chances of happiness almost nil.  But one member of the gang risks everything to save him -- and loses everything as a result.

This classic story written by Charles Dickens has been wonderfully retold by Roy McMillan who has been featured in over 500 radio plays for the BBC and is read by Jonathan Keeble who is an award-winning reader who has recorded over 100 audiobooks. Created with children ages 8-13 in mind, this audiobook features the original text found in Dicken's classic but the words are simplified and clarified at certain points throughout the story to ensure that the child understands them and can easily follow along with the storyline. We had our kids listen to the audiobook over a 3 day span and even our 6 year old sat quietly in front of the radio totally engrossed in the story he was hearing.  This particular version will allow you to introduce your child to classic literature in a way that will create a desire to read more of the great classics.  This audiobook re-telling of the classic Oliver Twist will keep children's attention and have them engaged in the story through its unique and captivating audio and is a wonderful way to bring classic literature into your home.

Naxos Junior Classic Audiobooks for children are also available in several other genres including CD's such as "Pirates", "Favourite Poems for Children", "The Incredible Adventures of Professor Branestawm", "The Vikings" and many more!
