Tornadoes, Birthdays & a Day of Rest

Friday was a day of potential severe weather for us here in Alabama.  Most of the schools in our area dismissed early and everyone was being very "weather aware" that day.  The storms did roll in around 3pm and lasted through about midnight.  Thankfully, we were spared any damage in our area but other parts of Alabama were not so lucky....including some areas that were still rebuilding from the April 27th devastation in Alabama.
This picture was taken by one of the weather photographers from a major news station who happened to be in our town Friday night.  We were under a tornado warning when this picture was captured and this is less than 1/4 a mile from our house!  We praise God for His hand of protection on us Friday because this cloud never reached the ground in our county.  Please continue to pray for all those affected by these horrible storms and if you live near an affected area, I encourage you to volunteer to help or at least donate items to local places that will be helping those families in their time of need.

Saturday night we went to a local restaurant to celebrate my sister and Abbey's birthday.  Abbey's birthday isn't technically until Thursday but we celebrated early since the family could all get together that night.  We had a great time and loved being together with my parents, my brother-in-law and sister and even my grandmother (whose husband recently passed away) came to celebrate with us too!  Here's some pictures of our fun evening together.
Sweet Sidney

Marshall and Uncle David

Wyatt kept us entertained with his antics the entire dinner

He had just ate a lemon

Abbey & her great-grandmother, Mamaw

And the birthday girl got a Kindle Fire!
My parents, my sister/brother-in-law and David & I all pitched in together to get her one for her birthday. She was SO excited and is really enjoying it.

Hope you had a great weekend too & don't forget to pray for those all across the country affected by severe weather Friday!
